Hanoi filmfest to screen Iran doc ‘One Kilogram of Fly Wings’

The 5th Hanoi Int’l Film Festival in Vietnam is to screen Iranian documentary ‘One Kilogram of Fly Wings’.

The 5th edition of the Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) in Vietnam has scheduled to screen Iranian documentary ‘One Kilogram of Fly Wings’.

Directed by Reza Sobhani, the film examines the Iranian problems and disadvantages of marriage conditions such as people who have been imprisoned for being unable to afford the mandatory payment they have to pay to the bride in case of a divorce.

Produced by Documentary and Experimental Film Center, ‘One Kilo of Fly Wings’ depicts people who have been imprisoned for various reasons. They had difficult conditions for marriage.

The Iranian documentary has also been screened at the 46th Austria Festival of Nations in May 2018 and the 2018 edition of the International Festival of Ethnographic Film in Serbia.

The HANIFF is a biennial film festival founded in 2010 as the first international film festival in Vietnam. Prior to 2016, only Asian films participated in the competition.

This edition of the HANIFF will screen 40 short films and 12 length films from various countries, including ‘The Dark Room’ by Rouhollah Hejazi from Iran.

The 5th edition of the Hanoi International Film Festival is slated for October 27-31, 2018.
